Reach out
Sometimes you don't need advice. You just need to know you're not the only one. This is for that.
Let me be straight about why this is here, because it's not what you'd think. It's not because I can help you. I can't. I'm not a therapist, a lawyer, or any kind of professional, and I'm not a replacement for a crisis line.
When this started for me, all I wanted was to talk to someone in the same boat. Someone who'd been down the same river. Not for advice, just to see that I wasn't the only one going through it. I looked, and I couldn't find him.
So I'm trying to be that guy for someone else. I won't fix anything, I don't have the answers. But I'll read every word, and I'll write back. Sometimes just being heard by someone who actually gets it is enough to start the healing.
If you're in crisis or thinking about hurting yourself, please don't wait on me. I'm not an emergency service and I might not see this in time. In the US, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, free, 24/7) right now, or call 911. Reaching out there isn't weakness. It's the strongest thing you can do.
