Terms of Use

Last updated July 13, 2026

Welcome to Custody & Coffee (the "Site"). It's a personal blog written by Roman, a divorced dad sharing his own experience. By using the Site or reaching out through it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

This is not professional advice

Roman is not a therapist, counselor, psychologist, doctor, lawyer, financial advisor, or any other kind of licensed or trained professional. Everything on this Site, and anything Roman may say in reply to you, is personal opinion and lived experience only. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Do not rely on it as such. Always seek the advice of a licensed professional for your specific situation.

No relationship, no guarantees

Using this Site or contacting Roman does not create any professional, therapeutic, legal, or fiduciary relationship. Roman may not respond to messages, may respond slowly, and is under no obligation to respond at all. Nothing here is confidential or privileged.

In a crisis, get real help

This Site is not a crisis or emergency service and is not monitored around the clock. If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or facing an emergency, do not use this Site. In the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 immediately. Outside the US, contact your local emergency number.

Use the Site at your own risk

The Site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Roman and anyone involved in creating the Site are not liable for any damages, losses, or harm of any kind arising from your use of the Site, your reliance on its content, or any communication with Roman. You use the Site and act on anything you read here entirely at your own risk and responsibility, including any decisions about your children, your co-parenting, or your legal matters.

Activity information and the "near you" finder

The Site lists activity ideas and includes an optional finder that shows places near you. My own recommendations are just my personal opinion, and things change (hours, prices, whether a place is even open). The "near you" finder pulls its results live from third-party map data (Google's Places API), which I do not create, control, review, or verify, and which may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Listing or showing a place is not an endorsement of it. Before you go anywhere, confirm the details, safety, and suitability for your kids yourself. I am not responsible for any third-party place, business, or service, for the accuracy of any listing, or for anything that happens during your visit. You choose where to take your children, and that choice and its consequences are yours.

Newsletter

Subscribing to the newsletter is optional. If you sign up, you're confirming the email is yours and that you'd like to receive occasional emails from me. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or through the contact page.

Third-party services and links

The Site uses third-party services to run (such as hosting, email, database, and map providers) and may link to outside sites like Google Maps. I don't control those services or sites and am not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Your submissions

If you send a message through the Site, you're responsible for what you share. Please don't send anything you consider confidential or sensitive that you wouldn't want read by email. Don't share other people's private information without their permission. See the Privacy Policy for how your message is handled.

Content and copyright

The writing and design on this Site belong to their owners and are for your personal reading. Please don't republish or reproduce them without permission.

Changes

These terms may change over time. Continued use of the Site means you accept the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
